Marco Vargas is a Portuguese architect from Ovar. He completed his Master’s degree in Architecture at FAUP in 2025, with the thesis Villa Mater: a house in the Azores.
During his studies, he was awarded first prize in two competitions: GO! Architecture at AEFAUP and the Warsaw Under Construction Festival 8, during a curricular internship at BudCud studio in Kraków.
Between the conclusion of his Erasmus exchange and his return to FAUP, he took a hiatus from his studies and worked in a high-fashion concept store in Porto, a period that influenced his personal taste.
He started his career at Ebejer Bonnici in Malta. There he collaborated on renovating an apartment in a historic London building, an 18th-century palazzo in Birkirkara and three residential houses in Naxxar.
